Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to Morgane Therapy Services, LLC. My name is Allyson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in VA. I support children, adolescents, and young adults (up to age 35) who are moving through life’s challenges including behavioral challenges, work/life balance, school experiences, friendship challenges, anxiety, anger management, grief, life transitions and self-esteem. I also support caregivers in navigating their child’s emotional experiences.

In my experience as a therapist and school counselor, I find vulnerability to be courageous. Morgane has a few meanings, “Bright Sea Dweller” being one of them, and navigating an ever-changing sea around us can be both an overwhelming and beautiful experience. My hope is to support clients in navigating that metaphorical sea and finding their authentic inner light while doing so.

I weave together play, expressive arts and psychotherapy to empower clients in exploring and comprehending their inner selves and life narratives. With specialized training in play therapy and ongoing pursuit of certification through the Association for Play Therapy, I employ a tailored approach to meet the needs of clients. For adolescents and young adults, I draw from methodologies like ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and expressive arts to align with one’s goals. Additionally, I prioritize collaboration with caregivers to ensure comprehensive support for their child's emotional journey.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if the match feels right for you and your current needs. I look forward to hearing from you!

Services

  • Telehealth: The convenience of telehealth allows for a therapist/client to connect in a way that allows flexibility with what otherwise might involve time/commute barriers. I provide telehealth services via a HIPAA compliant platform for teens, young adults and parents/caregivers looking to support their child. You must be located in the state of Virginia at the time of service.

  • Play Therapy: Play therapy utilizes play as a therapeutic tool to help children express themselves and navigate emotional challenges. In sessions, children engage in play activities to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Through play, children can develop coping skills, process challenges and foster emotional growth.

  • Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on addressing mental health issues through talk-based interventions. During sessions, individuals explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviors to promote healing and growth. Through collaboration and support, psychotherapy aims to enhance well-being, resilience and self-awareness.
